FAQ’s With Roy Oppenheim
Full transcript: A lot of times, people want to know how much are they going to pay for title insurance? And the answer is that first of all, it’s heavily regulated in all 50 states. And so, in most states you’ll have what’s called a “promulgated rate,” or a “minimum promulgated rate,” which is the amount of money that you’re going to be expected to pay for your title insurance.
And in almost every state that amount is based on the cost and expense of the home. A less expensive home will have less expensive title insurance. A very expensive home will have more expensive title insurance. Different states have different rates, and govern title insurance rather differently.
