Is Using A Title Company Owned And Operated By An Attorney A Good Idea

Video: Attorney Owned and Operated Florida Title Company

FAQ’s With Roy Oppenheim

Full transcript: Roy Oppenheim here for Weston Title. One of the questions that we get sometimes asked is, is using a title company owned and operated by an attorney a good idea? Well, obviously, because I own and operate a title company with my wife and partner Ellen, who’s also a lawyer of course, we would say, “Yes.”

Why Choose an Attorney Owned and Operated Florida Title Company

But we have found over the years that the title companies that are owned and operated by attorneys typically perform at a higher level, they’re more sophisticated, but that’s not always the case. Many times, you do have people who are very well trained and well skilled in the business, and they’re not, in fact, attorneys, and they do just as well. But we have found over the years that if you had to just make a generalization, which I don’t believe in necessarily always doing, that I would prefer one that’s owned and operated.

But, like all rules, there are exceptions.
